The Honours 1st year examination 2024 form fill up notice has been published on 18 May 2025. The NU Honours 1st Year Form fill up will be commenced from 20 May 2025. Regular (2023-24 session), irregular (2020-21, 2021- 22, & 2022-23 session) and grade improvement students can take part in the honours 1st year exam 2024.

Honours 1st Year Examination Form Fill Up 2025
National University has released the Notice Regarding Honours First Year Examination 2024 on www nu ac bd webportal. According to the official notice, students can start their On-line form fill up from May 20, 2025. The online form fill-up process for honours first year exam will go on till June 23, 2025.
As per the schedule given below, the concerned college authorities will confirm the application forms of the students upon submission of their application and details form. The rules and conditions related to form fill-up are provided below. The detailed exam routine will be announced later to all concerned.

Who Can Participate in the Exam?
This is to inform all concerned that students of the 2023–2024 academic session (regular), and students of the 2020–2021, 2021–2022, and 2022–2023 academic sessions (irregular and grade improvement), as well as students of the 2017–2018, 2018–2019, and 2019–2020 academic sessions who have been Promoted and received an ‘F’ grade in any course, will be eligible to participate in the Honours 1st Year Examination 2024.
- Regular Students of the academic year 2023–2024.
- Irregular & Grade Improvement Students from 2020–2021, 2021–2022, and 2022–2023 sessions.
- Promoted Students of 2017–2018, 2018–2019, and 2019–2020 sessions who received an F grade in any course.

How to Fill Up Honours First Year Form for 2024 Examination?
Students must accurately fill out the Honours 1st Year Exam Application Form using their registration number by visiting the National University’s official website: ems.nu.ac.bd or www.nubd.info/honours. After completing the online form fill up, download and print a copy. Then submit it to your respective department at your college along with the required exam fees within the scheduled deadline.
Eligibility & Conditions to Participate in the Honours 1st Year Exam 2024
For Regular Students
Students who registered for Honours courses in the 2023–2024 academic session under National University and have completed their courses as per the regulation will be eligible to appear in the 2024 Honours 1st Year Exam. They will sit for the exam following the 2013–2014 syllabus and revised regulations.
For Irregular Students
Students from the 2020–2021, 2021–2022, and 2022–2023 academic years who either:
- Appeared in the Honours 1st Year Exam but were Not Promoted, or
- Did not attend the exam at all,
will be allowed to take the 2024 Honours 1st Year Exam as irregular candidates.
Note: Students who were Not Promoted do not need to re-take the courses they passed in the previous year.
For Grade Improvement Students
Students who appeared for the 2023 Honours 1st Year Exam (either as regular or irregular candidates) for the first time and were promoted to 2nd year are eligible for grade improvement.
These students may sit for the Grade Improvement Exam in a maximum of two courses where they obtained D, C or C+ grades only.
For Promoted Students with F Grade
Students from the 2017–2018, 2018–2019, 2019–2020, 2020–2021, 2021–2022, and 2022–2023 academic years who were promoted to 2nd year but received an F grade in one or more subjects may participate in the 2024 exam only for those F-graded courses.
⚠️ These students must obtain at least a “D” grade in those courses within their registration validity period to clear the subject.
For Absentees (C Promoted)
Students who were C Promoted in the 2023 Honours 1st Year Exam but were absent in one or more papers must appear in the 2024 exam for those missing papers.
For 2016-2017 Session Students
Students of the 2016–2017 academic session who received an F grade (failed) in one or more courses will be allowed to participate in the 2024 Honours 1st Year Exam by paying a special fee of BDT 5,000. This is a one-time opportunity.
- Registration Renewal is NOT required.
- If a student fails again in this exam, they will not be eligible to retake the exam in the future under any condition.
- Grade improvement is not allowed in practical (lab) exams.
Instructions for Students
Students must follow these steps carefully:
- Download the Application Form
Visit the NU student portal: http://ems.nu.ac.bd/student-login to download the application form. - Submit with Required Documents
Submit the printed form along with the required exam fee to your departmental head. - Check Subject Codes Carefully
Make sure that subject codes (including practical subjects) are correctly entered as per the syllabus. Mistakes will not be the university’s responsibility. - Correct Mistakes Promptly
If there’s any error in the form, cancel it through your college and re-download a corrected version. - Match With Registration Subject
You can only fill out the form for the subject mentioned in your registration card. If the registration card has errors, they must be corrected before the admit card is issued. - Submit Photocopy of Registration Card
Attach a photocopy of your registration card with the application form and submit it as per your college’s instructions.
Instructions for Colleges
- Download Probable List
Colleges can download the probable list of eligible students for the 2024 Honours 1st Year Exam from www.nubd.info/honours or the EMS software panel in Excel or PDF format. - Enter Data Online
All form data must be entered directly into the National University’s online system through EMS. - Add Missing Eligible Students
If any eligible student is not on the list, the college must contact the NU ICT or relevant section with the required documents to include them in the list before allowing form fill-up. - Accurate Online Data Entry:
All student information must be entered correctly on the university’s online portal based on their applications and must be verified (confirmed) within the specified deadline. - Print & Signature Requirements:
Once data verification is complete, the student information sheet should be printed. This print copy must first be signed by the Head of the Department, followed by the Principal. - Admit Card Distribution:
After collecting the admit card, each student must attach a recently taken passport-size photograph at the designated place, which must be attested by the Principal before the admit card is distributed. - Online Portal Activation & Deadline:
The National University website will open for data entry within the scheduled period announced in the official notice. After the deadline, the system will automatically close. Therefore, data entry must be completed on time. - Strict Verification Guidelines:
Extreme caution is advised during verification. No student’s verification should be missed, and no one should be verified in place of someone else. No complaints regarding the form or verification will be accepted after confirmation. - Matching with Probable List:
To ensure the accuracy of the data, entries must be cross-checked with the Probable List. Then, colleges must log in to the university website using their College Login to verify the applications. Signatures from the Department Head and Principal are required. The application must be stored in the college afterward.
Login credentials (User ID & Password) can be collected from the College Profile or official college email. - Photo Attachment Instructions:
Each student must paste one attested passport-size photo on the printed online application form at the assigned location using glue. - In-course and Term Paper Marks:
Upon submission of the online form by the student, the college will verify and finalize the student’s data online, including in-course and term paper marks (if applicable). - Admit Card Issuance:
Only students whose data is verified online by the college will receive their admit cards. After verification, a printout of the student information must be taken. - Final Reminder:
The university website will be active only during the announced period. After the deadline, the system will shut down automatically. Colleges must complete the data entry and verification within the given time.
